    Why does Australia want to let law enforcement access encrypted messages?


    On Thursday, Australia passed laws that will force tech companies to help police and security agencies access encrypted communications. Australian police say that over 90 per cent of messages they intercept now use some form of encryption. They claim that this affects their ability to investigate terrorists and organised crime groups.
